I have been living at Hoyleton in the Mid North of South Australia for the past 25 years. My woodworking experience, both as a hobby and professionally, extends for over 30 years.
I first started in business making handcrafted furniture and craft products whilst living on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, moving to South Australia in 1990.
We are a small enterprise specialising in low production and one off pieces. We use mostly new, milled timbers but are increasingly meeting a demand for unique pieces from recycled timbers. Our furniture uses traditional joinery techniques and finishes; we are not trying to compete with mass production.
Furniture & Style
Our furniture is made using traditional woodworking methods. Most of the cabinet work uses a style known as Frame & Panel. This is solid timber construction but makes an allowance for timber movement due to changes in humidity.
Tables and chairs are joined with mortise and tenon and all drawers are dovetailed. We use only traditional oil and wax finishes, allowing the timber to breath and age naturally. We have our own designs but custom jobs can be created based on existing styles.
Our services include almost anything that can be made out of wood, such as: Outdoor Settings, Puzzles and Worm Farms.
Burr Puzzles are six piece, three way crosses that lock together when assembled in the correct order. They range from relatively easy to near impossible to solve.
Our worm farms are solid, insulated units suitable for arrange of environments. We can supply working farms with the worms already turning garden waste into useful compost.
